Frequently asked
Quick answers, no fine print.
How Deed Bucks work, where your donation actually goes, and how we keep every draw legitimate.
What are Deed Bucks?
Deed Bucks (DB) are Daily Deed's free-entry currency for charity prize draws. Earn them by checking in daily, playing free Deed Bucks games, answering trivia, or reading charity stories — no donation required. Every 100 Deed Bucks redeems for 1 free entry into any active draw, with the same odds as a paid entry. Deed Bucks exist so anyone can participate without spending money — that's the no-purchase-necessary path required by U.S. promotion law.
How do I earn Deed Bucks for free?
You earn Deed Bucks by signing in to Daily Deed and completing daily activities: checking in (one streak credit per day), playing short skill-based games, answering charity trivia, or reading sponsored impact stories. Each activity awards a small DB amount, with a daily cap of 30 Deed Bucks that resets at midnight Eastern Time. Maintaining a streak unlocks 2× bonus days at certain milestones (Sunday on a 5-day streak, for example).
Is Daily Deed legitimate?
Yes. Daily Deed only partners with charities verified as IRS 501(c)(3) public nonprofits. Donations are held in escrow until the campaign's draw closes, and 100% of net donations are wired to the partnered charity within 7 days of draw close. Winners are picked by Random.org — a third-party RNG used by academic researchers and government lotteries — with the entry list and seed published after each draw so the result can be independently verified.
Do I have to donate to win a prize on Daily Deed?
No. Daily Deed is a promotional giveaway, not a raffle. Every prize draw has a free-entry path through Deed Bucks (100 DB redeems for 1 entry) with odds identical to paid entries. Donating simply lets you add more entries faster. The free-entry option exists because U.S. promotion law requires no purchase necessary on any prize promotion that offers entries for money.
How are winners chosen on Daily Deed?
Winners are chosen by Random.org's verifiable RNG service after the campaign reaches its donation goal and the entry window closes. Daily Deed publishes the full entry list and the random seed used for the draw within 7 days of the close, so anyone can re-run the selection and confirm the result. Winners are notified within 48 hours by email and phone, and the winner's first name, city, prize, and partnered charity are posted publicly on the Winners page.
Where does my donation actually go?
100% of net donations on Daily Deed go to the verified 501(c)(3) charity behind that specific campaign — not to Daily Deed and not to a generic pool. Net means after a small payment-processing fee (typically 2–3% from our payment processor). Funds are held in escrow throughout the campaign and wired to the charity within 7 days of the draw closing. Every donor receives a tax-deductible receipt by email immediately after donating.
Are Daily Deed donations tax-deductible?
Yes. Because Daily Deed only partners with IRS-verified 501(c)(3) public charities, every donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by US law. A receipt with the charity's EIN, donation amount, and donation date is emailed to you immediately after a successful donation, and a year-end summary is available in your account. Consult your tax advisor for how to claim the deduction on your return.
What happens if a campaign doesn't hit its donation goal?
If a Daily Deed campaign doesn't reach its donation goal by the end date, every donor is automatically refunded in full to their original payment method — no action needed. The prize is not awarded, no draw is run, and the charity does not receive funds from that campaign. This refund guarantee is one of the key trust mechanics of the platform and is documented in each campaign's Official Rules.
